curated secondhand clothing bundle

for SHAUNA

I just knew from the moment I saw Shauna’s inspiration images that this was going to be one of my favorite bundles. The outfits she showed interest in have a beautiful mix of femininity and grunge. Lots of sweet floral patterns and feminine silhouettes mixed with heavier textiles like leather or denim. I’m all about the juxtaposition. Check out a few of Shauna’s inspo images below.

Ella Moon Floral Dress

I was floored when I found this dress and felt so lucky that it was in Shauna’s size. It was the perfect addition to her bundle. The print and colors are so vibrant and beautiful against the black base of the dress, the pearlescent buttons down the front give a hint of a vintage vibe, and the silhouette is so elegant and feminine. I’m obsessed (and mildly jealous there wasn’t a duplicate in my size)!

Abercrombie & Fitch Tiered Dress

This Abercrombie & Fitch tiered mini dress looks like I could have pulled it straight off of one of her inspiration images. It’s going to be a great piece for summer, but would look so cute in the fall over a pair of black tights and an oversized cardigan on top.

Black Denim Overall Dress

I hoped to find a pinafore or short overall dress for Shauna’s bundle, as there were a few on her inspiration board, and this one was perfect! I sized up by one size to allow Shauna to put a sweater underneath the dress in autumn or winter, along with some black tights and chunky black boots.

Cream Cropped Jacket

Although Shauna’s Pinterest board featured primarily darker-colored clothing, I did want to include a few brighter pieces for contrast. Something I loved about this lightweight denim jacket is the cropped fit and exaggerated pockets on the front. Something a little more visually interesting than the standard denim jacket.

Brandy Melville Cheetah Print Skirt

I noticed some cheetah prints amongst Shauna’s inspiration images, along with some mini skirts, so I couldn’t resist the chance to merge the two in this super cute Brandy Melville mini skirt!

Embroidered Denim Jacket

The denim jacket was the last item on my list, and every time I found one at thrift stores, something wasn’t right. Whether it was the length, wash, or detail, something didn’t give me that “this is totally for Shauna” feeling. I stumbled upon this jacket in my wardrobe and felt like this embroidered denim jacket would be the coolest addition to Shauna’s bundle. From the front, the jacket adds that cool factor only a denim jacket can, but the back is where the jacket shines. An unexpected pop of fun – an embroidered tiger. This is very Shauna to me because Shauna is also very cool and possesses a surprise wow factor in her hobbies and interests.

Black Linen Button Back Tank

I originally picked this piece up because I felt the linen as I was sifting through the clothing rack at the thrift store. Linen is always a fabric I love to thrift, especially in the summer. It’s so breathable, soft, and flowy. I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed the beautiful button-back detail!

H&M Muscle Tank

A muscle tank for literally the strongest woman I know was a no-brainer. Seriously, she’s a powerlifter and she’s SO badass. Check her out!

Madewell Checkered Wrap Top

Amongst the patterns present on Shauna’s Pinterest board, I spotted a fair amount of checkered pieces, so I thought this black and white Madewell faux wrap top would fit the vision quite well.

Leopard Quilted Puff Sleeve Top

More animal print! I love the drama of this top. It’s super soft in a way that almost feels quilted and has a beautiful puff sleeve detail.

Beach Lunch Lounge Collection Flannel Button Down

One of the most iconic grunge clothing items you can have in your wardrobe is a flannel button-down. I spotted this black and brown one and thought it would be a great oversized fit and would work well with the existing darker colors in her wardrobe and bundle.

Green Chadwick's Jacket

Shauna tends to stick with darker colors and cooler tones, so this super cool military green denim jacket will fit perfectly with the rest of the bundle while offering a pop of color that’s not too overwhelming.

Free People Moto Style Jacket

I know you’re thinking, “Hannah, you just said Shauna wears darker colors and cooler tones,” and you are correct! However, I want to emphasize that the overall vibe of her inspiration images was a mix of delicate and rock n roll. To me, this jacket says just that. I personally also think Shauna would look phenomenal in this shade of blush pink.

Black Wilson's Leather Pants

I wish there was a way for me to adequately convey to you just how soft these leather pants are. I’ve truly never felt leather this soft. I can see these pants looking so cool with an oversized band tee.

Green Zara Faux Leather Leggings

To my surprise, I found a second pair of (faux) leather pants for Shauna! These green faux leather pants fit more like leggings and come with a zipper detail on the ankles, allowing for space for a boot or even just for some leg to show. I think the deep forest green color is also exceptional.

Gap Maxi Skirt

One thing that surprised me while shopping for Shauna’s bundle was the lack of floral midi skirts or maxi dresses at every store I visited. I thought this would be one of my easiest finds, but it surely wasn’t. While hunting for skirts, however, I did come across this super stretchy Gap maxi skirt I fell in love with.

Military Green Liz Claiborne Trousers

I intended to find some black wide-leg dress trousers for Shauna, but these structured green trousers were WAY cooler. I think these would look so cool with a soft, feminine, light top to contrast the rigidness of these pants.

Tan Love Tree Moto Jacket

A traditional black moto jacket seems a little obvious for this bundle, so to add an unexpected element, I picked up this moto jacket in a gorgeous light brown. (This is another piece I wish I found a duplicate of in my size ?)

Silver Double Buckle Belt

This awesome belt with heavy-duty silver hardware will give the perfect edgy touch to any dress or skirt/shirt combo.

Abercrombie & Fitch Satin Camisole

Like the pink moto-style jacket, this camisole has that 2-in-1 feminine and edgy combo in that the slinkiness and shine of the satin are light and elegant, but the black color gives it a bit of edge.

Loft Corduroy Skinny Jeans

Because Shauna is a powerlifter, it was important for me to pay attention to fits of clothing so she doesn’t feel restricted in movement or uncomfortable by her clothing. I was very excited to find this curve-friendly pair of black corduroy skinny jeans with the original tags still attached in her size!

H&M Plaid Trousers

While plaid trousers are typically heavy cotton or wool, these plaid ants are surprisingly light, flowy, and breathable, allowing Shauna to wear these longer than exclusively colder months.

New York & Company Bike Shorts

I spotted a few pairs of bike shorts on Shauna’s Pinterest board, so I was happy to find this pair that was new with tags. Maybe it’s because I’m a millennial, but I still very much enjoy the bike shorts with an oversized tee look.

H&M Mom Jeans

Woohoo, jeans with a matching belt at the thrift store! I was very excited to find this pair because they’re mom jeans, which allow for more room in the hips and legs. Mom jeans in good quality and modern washes aren’t very plentiful at the thrift stores I frequent, so these felt like such a win!

Def Leppard Tee

I noticed a few band tees on Shauna’s Pinterest board, and while I wasn’t lucky enough to find a tee shirt of a band I know Shauna likes, I did find this cool Def Leppard tee that fits the vision. In my opinion, Def Leppard is amongst those classic bands everyone seems to have a tee shirt of and doesn’t seem to spark the annoying “name three songs” comment.

H&M Striped Tee

While this tee shirt is covered in a pattern, I would treat this tee shirt as a basic piece in Shauna’s bundle. By that, I mean I would pair the tee shirt with a standout texture or color, like the bright green denim jacket or the leather moto-style jacket that commands attention in an outfit.
