curated secondhand clothing bundle
for emily
If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ve likely seen a few bundles I’ve put together for Emily. I curate bundles for her on a quarterly/seasonal basis and this one is focused on the transition between late summer/early autumn. Pivoting from her last bundle that contained more masculine and structured pieces (inspired by Jane Smith from the 2024 Mr. & Mrs. Smith), Emily challenged me to lean more into feminine pieces. Here’s what I put together:
emily’s Bundle
Baltic Born Velvet Wrap Maxi Dress
I’ve said it once, I’ll say it a million more times, ThriftSmart in Nashville is elite when it comes to formal dresses. I am SO excited to have found this Baltic Born velvet wrap maxi dress (that’s still being sold on their website right now!) I’ve thrifted two Baltic Born dresses for myself in the past and they’ve become my go-to dresses for fall/winter events, and I hope this dress will become a staple in Emily’s wardrobe for any upcoming formal events she may have.
Vintage Talbots Suede Button Down Dress
There’s something that feels so autumnal about brown suede. I can see this being a great transition piece with a pair of hurraches while it’s still hot outside, and I can also see it worn open over a pair of straight leg blue jeans, heeled boots, and a white tee shirt/tank as a duster as the weather gets colder.
Old Navy Floral Dress
There are so many aspects of this dress that I absolutely love from the subtle puff sleeve to the gorgeous color scheme. Floral dresses often feel too spring, but there’s something about a light blue and rust that feels fall appropriate.
Brown Corduroy Belted Jacket
This jacket is AMAZING. The construction is gorgeous, and the original matching belt is still in tact! With the belt, Emily can wear the jacket closed with the belt pulled for a more feminine silhouette, or open without the belt, as you would with any jacket.
ModCloth Patterned Tee
This ModCloth tee shirt is a little thicker than your traditional tee shirt, giving it some textural interest, but my favorite part about this tee shirt is the silver threading woven into the pattern.
Croft & Barrow Knit Vest Top
Continuing on in my pursuit to add more late summer/early fall transition pieces to Emily’s bundle, this vest top felt like the best of both worlds – a lightweight knit with a rich rust color that’s perfect for fall.
Loft Navy Blue Lace Tank
You know those early autumn days when the morning is chilly and you have a great outfit on but the afternoon is blazing hot and your outfit feels a lot less great because you had to remove the top layers that were the standout pieces in your outfit? This tank top is meant for those days. It’s neutral enough to be just one part of a busier outfit, but it’s special enough to be the standout piece in an overall more neutral outfit.
Blue Ribbed Mockneck Tank Top
This color is going to be BEAUTIFUL on Emily. Another transition piece ideal for late summer/early autumn.
Loft Floral Skirt
In each bundle I’ve curated for Emily, I’ve included one “wildcard” piece that goes beyond what Emily originally requested for her to try. Emily and I have had many converstaions about skirts and how difficult they are to style, and I’ve strayed away from adding them to her bundles for a while now.
Recently, I’ve added a couple maxi skirts to my own wardrobe and they’ve felt a little easier to style, so I wanted to give Emily this lovely floral maxi skirt in hopes that this could be a skirt Emily enjoys.
Universal Thread White Vintage Jeans
I am very pro “wear white jeans past Labor Day” and I am a firm believer everyone should have a pair of white or cream colored jeans. They’re not the easiest to find secondhand without stains, so when I found these in Emily’s size, it was a no brainer.
Checkered Slacks
In an effort to add a couple work-appropriate pieces to Emily’s bundle, I found these really great black and white checkered dress pants. Finding secondhand dress pants that aren’t vintage and itchy or modern and poorly constructed can be a little difficult, so these felt like a great win.
Ralph Lauren Jeans
In August, I had the honor of being a part of Goodwill’s Style With A Purpose event, and while there, I knew that some premium items were hitting the sales floor, so I took a few minutes during the event to have a look through the racks to see what I could pick up for Emily and these red Ralph Lauren jeans caught my eye. I was so pleased to find they were Emily’s size! A pop of red is fun in a pair of shoes or a handbag, but in a pair of jeans is so much more fun.
